The Black Canadian AI Society (BCAIS) is a national, member-driven organization dedicated to building a thriving ecosystem of Black excellence in Artificial Intelligence across Canada and beyond.
To build a national and globally connected ecosystem that advances representation, innovation, leadership, and societal impact in Artificial Intelligence, while fostering strategic partnerships across the globe.
Our vision is to create a thriving ecosystem of Black AI scholars, professionals, innovators, and communities in Canada — advancing inclusive, ethical, and transformative artificial intelligence that benefits all of society.
We actively work to remove barriers and create meaningful opportunities for Black communities in AI.
We pursue world-class research, education, and technological advancement.
We champion the development of AI that is transparent, fair, and beneficial to humanity.

BCAIS is incorporated as a non-profit, non-share capital corporation under the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA). We operate as a national, member-based, non-partisan organization with the authority to collaborate and expand globally.
